Plot Summary of Little Dorrit
"The Dorrit family, William and his three children live in the Marshalsea, a debtor's prison. The youngest Amy, Little Dorrit was born in the prison. All three children are allowed to work outside and return at night to be with their father. Little Dorrit does sewing for Mrs. Clemens and when her son, Arthur returns from India, he helps get Dorrit freed from prison.

When the family suddenly comes into money, all of them except Little Dorrit become obnoxious and snobbish. She falls in love with the older Arthur. When he is eventually imprisoned in the Marshalsea, she helps him and they marry in the prison church.
"

Jack Goodstein, Resident Scholar

" A physically small, but courageous girl by the name of Amy, or affectionately referred to as Little Dorrit, is born in a debtors prison in London. Though the youngest of three children, she takes care of her family and sews for Mrs.Clennem, a strange old lady. When Mrs.Clennem's son, Arthur, becomes interested in helping the Dorrit family (and succeeds in doing so) he is unaware of the love that Amy has for him. The Dorrits find they have a vast fortune, and as a result free themselves from the prison, and soon are spoiled by their wealth.
Through faulty investments and forgery, Clennem is plunged into debt, and Little Dorrit with her seemingly vast wealth comes to ask him to marry her. By this time Arthur has realized his love, and hers, but still refuses to take her money. When Amy tells him that her family's wealth was also lost through the investments, they marry."
