Plot Summary of Out of the Blue
"Faith has been married for 15 years to her college sweetheart, Peter, and they have 2 teenage children. At their anniversary dinner, which Peter forgot about, he says that 15 years is a millstone, instead of a milestone. This prompts Faith's friend Lily to comment that Peter sounds like he's showing signs of a husband who is straying. Peter has lost weight, updated his wardrobe and been sleeping in the guest room. Peter claimed this was due to the stress of his work as a publisher and his search for a new job. This starts Faith to question Peter's fidelity, her marriage and her current life style.

Faith works as a television weather reporter and feels she has let life just pull her along. She envies Lily's life as a single flamboyant high-fashion magazine editor. Given Faith's suspicions about Peter, she is receptive to Josiah, a handsome graphic artist, who begins to show interest in her. Peter confesses he has been having an affair but begs Faith to forgive him. At the same time, Jos seems to be offering romance. Faith's old stable life has suddenly changed and with Lily's encouragement, she begins to consider all the new experiences she could explore. "
