Plot Summary of Diamond
"Jesse Eagle, country music's hottest new star, stops in a poor mining town for some gas and finds a woman with the voice of an angel. Diamond Houston has just buried her father and when Jesse offers to take her to Nashville she jumps at the opportunity to fulfill her dreams of singing. Both Jesse and Diamond feel the immediate pull of attraction between them, but Diamond has been burned in the past and she has no intention of repeating the lesson.

Jesse doesn't know why Diamond doesn't trust him. He only knows that he wants her and that his feelings go far beyond mere lust. Jesse takes Diamond under his wing and shows her the insides of making an record. Diamond is immediately greeted with apprehension and outright hostility by Jesse's band and manager. However, when they hear her sing the bands' minds begin to open. But Jesse's manager is determined to remove her from Jesse's life. He believes that an attached sex symbol is not attractive to adoring fans.

Diamond remains silent about the mistreatment she is receiving. After being shown hateful letters from fans about her, Jesse's manager convinces her she is ruining Jesse's career and she leaves.

After finding work in a bar singing and eventually a manager, Diamond's on the verge of breakout success. Jesse's world, on the otherhand, is coming apart. All he knows is that Diamond is gone, he doesn't know why and cannot begin to know where to look for her. "
