| Plot Summary of The Gold Heart |
"A lonely, grumpy old man, who is stuck in a nursing home, befriends his nurse. As their friendship grows, the old man's like story comes out, which includes being abused by his father, living in poverty during the Great Depression, and fighting in World War II.
Upon his return from war, he falls in love with a kind and beautiful woman. Over the span of a few years, their marriage dissolves because he starts to behave like his father and hit his wife. He begs his wife for reconciliation. Do they get back together? "
