Plot Summary of Taming Rafe
"    When Rafe Bancroft, an ex-military man, wins Forton Hall from Nigel Harrington in a card game, he immediately makes plans to sell of the estate and travel to China. Rafe's passion for travel is delayed though, when he arrives to find Forton Hall half falling down and in poor condition, and even worse he finds Nigel's little sisters still living there, unknown to them that Nigel has lost the estate.
Felicity, Nigel's twin, takes care of their eight year old sister, May, while trying to maintain the estate with practically no funds. When Rafe explains the situation, she does not believe him at first and they agree to live together until Felicity uncovers the truth from Nigel. In the meantime, Rafe and Felicity fall in love. When Felicity learns that not only did Nigel lose the estate, but also abandoned them to travel abroad, Felicity decides to weigh her options for the future of her and her sister.
Rafe allows the two girls to stay on, since he has developed a passionate love for Felicity, and a sisterly love for May. The local neighbor, a nobleman, asks Felicity for her hand in marriage, causing Rafe to become upset."

" Rafe Bancroft never wanted the responsibility that came down with his family name. So he traveled to different countries to escape his father and brother's insistence that he manage one of the family's estates. When Rafe returned back to London, he won an estate from one of his gambling partners. He figured that he could sell the estate and use the money to fund him for his next travel. However he was swindled when he got to Forton Hall. It was dilapidated and in arrears. There were also 2 occupants who claimed to own the estate: Felicity Harrington and her little sister May. Felicity couldn't imagine that her brother would just sell off their family's estate. But since the deed was done and was legal, she let Rafe take over the estate. Rafe took pity to the 2 women. He decided to restore the place to sell it off on a higher pricer. This way the Felicity and May could stay longer and buy them time to look for a job. Deeper than those reasons, Rafe wanted Felicity and couldn't bear to see her go. When Felicity got a marriage proposal from her long-time suitor, Rafe was jealous. But the suitor, James Deerhurst, had a motive for wanting Felicity and that was to secure Forton Hall because without it he could lose his estate too which was legally tied with Forton Hall. Felicity was very reluctant to accept James's proposal for she had feelings for Rafe. This made James resort to more drastic measures and that was to eliminate James so he could get Forton Hall.
