Plot Summary of Confessions of a Scoundrel
"    Brandon St. John and Verena Westforth meet when Brandon is sent by his family to bribe her into rejecting his brother Chase. Verena has already rejected Chase, but takes the money to teach Brandon a lesson, especially since he kissed and called a bonus. Verena makes a laughingstock of Brandon, even though she secretly feels passion for the arrogant nobleman.
   Brandon and Verena both get caught up with a plot to steal a list of England's spies, and when the list goes missing everyone believes Verena is the culprit. Brandon steps in a tries to protect Verena even though all he wishes to do is seduce her.
   Together they try to solve the mystery of the missing list, all while each find themselves falling hard in love for each other, even though their social levels are so mismatched."
