| Plot Summary of Queen Elizabeth 2: A Woman Who Is Not Amused |
"Nicholas Davies' look at the Windsor Family focuses on Queen Elizabeth, it covers the basic facts of her life and various members of her family. This is all set in a discussion of the royal family's daily life, exotic trips and royal duties.
After a brief introduction to the early life of the Queen and Phillip, the book really delves into their marriage. The decades long rumors and speculation about the state of The Queen's and Prince Philip's marriage are all detailed here. Bad behaviour, affairs, and compromises are all discussed. Was this truly a love match on both sides? Is Prince Phillip a cad? Various women are named as mistresses, but since this is not an authorized biography it can only be speculation.
Nicholas Davies then moves on the the children. Family life is dicussed. The dismal marriages of Anne, Charles, and Andrew are all covered. This book does not cover the divorces of Charles and Andrew, it ends with separation of Andrew and Sarah. There are individual chapters for the Queen's realtionships with Diana, Sarah and Princess Michael of Kent.
In addition to the family Nicholas Davies takes a peak at the Queen's friends and confidantes. There is also a brief glimpse into politics with a chapter discussing her relationships with her various Prime Ministers. "
