Multimillionaire widow Lilly Marquette reluctantly shops inside the Cloud Nine Adult Shop to purchase a birthday present for her best friend Betsy when the furnace explodes. Lilly ends up in a place where two angels inform her that she once again failed to get it right in her latest lifetime. They agree to send her back but to remain she must give away her eighteen million dollars and have a baby by her next birthday. Lilly accepts the terms because she always wanted a child.
Jake Murdoch is filling in for his neighbor when the furnace exploded at Cloud Nine. He rescues Lilly. He knows her as he was best man at her wedding to the now deceased Brady and blames her for the destruction of their company. He also fell in love with her at Brady's wedding, but wants nothing to do with her as he believes she betrayed him and the honor of her late spouse. Lilly thinks he is to be her earthly mentor to guide her so will not allow him to walk away from her. As she fosters herself on him, Jake and Lilly fall in love, but the cherished Brady casts a shadow over their relationship.
"Lilly Marquette is the recent, still-grieving widow of a millionaire. She reluctantly accompanies her best friend into a sex-toy shop and is surprised to find herself attracted to the handsome hunk behind the counter. A gas explosion then causes her to die.
Instead of going to heaven, she finds herself rerouted to a transition station where angels offer her a second chance at life provided she redeems herself by giving away the millions she so loves. She also has to choose the right man to fall in love with and father her child, all in a limited amount of time. Lilly comes back to earth and life and proceeds to immediately fall in love with the counter boy who turns out to be her deceased husband's ex-partner Jake Murdoch.
Electronic genius Jake is driving a cab these days as Lilly's inadventently inherited the insurance money that should have gone to him. He's always been attracted to her but now mistrusts her. Lily begins a game of seduction even as she picks up speed giving away her money. But the angels prevent her from giving any money to Jake. Not knowing this, Jake only gets more frustrated and with time running out, this doesn't help Lily's plans any. Meanwhile her crafty in-laws come up with a plan to keep her from throwing away her millions."
