| Plot Summary of Bleachy-Haired Honky Bitch: Tales from a Bad Neighborhood |
"In this memoir, columnist, flight attendant, and translator Hollis Gillespie recounts events that happened to her during her childhood as well as during her present life. She describes her parent's dysfunctional marriage and eventual divorce, her mother's terminal cancer and career as a nuclear bomb designer, and the family's frequent moves. Hollis also describes herself as a young woman in college and her relationship with her sisters. Mostly, though, Hollis' bid to buy a house of her own (following years of life as a virtual hermit and complicated by a bad credit record) and her friendship with two gay men and one other very odd man is told through her anecdotes."
