" When Susannah Phelps finds herself pregnant and unmarried she's forced away from her home and family, but her situation worsens when she discovers that the man that her brother intended for her to marry, Riley Holt, had never agreed to any such plan. With few options and little resources Susannah decides to use her knowledge to open up a charm school to prove she can survive on her own and keep herself away from any scandals.
Riley finds Susannah as unsuited for frontier life as his first wife had been and he isn't willing to expose another wife to the hard life she would certainly need to face should he marry her. But as she proves herself time and time again of being capable of handling hardships he finds himself softening to the love he's beginning to feel towards her and her child.
