| Plot Summary of Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism |
" Molly Moon is a miserable child who lives in an orphanage in England. Miss Adderstone, the headmistress, delights in finding the most vicious punishments for her (like cleaning toilets with her toothbrush) and her teacher isn't much better. Just when Molly thinks life can't get any worse, Rocky, her only friend, is adopted and taken to New York City. Then Molly finds a book about hypnosis and discovers that she's a natural at it.
After hypnotising the cook to make good food for the kids, and the headmistress to like her, Molly realizes that this talent could be very useful, and flies to America to become an instant star on Broadway, where she hypnotises her audience to think she's a wonderfully talented person.
However, one person knows her secret-- that Molly is a fraud-- and decides to take advantage of Molly's talents by getting her to rob the biggest bank in New York. Molly must outwit her adversary. "
