| Plot Summary of Six Characters in Search of an Author |

"A group of actors is rehearsing a play when six people of varying ages appear on the stage claiming that they are characters in a play abandoned by their author and are looking for a new one to write their story. The actors, under the guidance of the stage manager agree to be their author, but the characters are always displeased with how the actors portray them. They insist that they know the real way and show the actors how it really was. The character's story involves one who claims to be a father coming across his daughter in a house of prostitution.
The play is also concerned with the philosophical question of the nature of reality. Which is more real, the characters and their story or the actors pretending to be the characters?
