| Plot Summary of Final Term |
"President Robert Thompson and First Lady Emily Thompson enlist a Manhattan psychiatrist, Petros Andros (Pete) to assist them with the president's fragile mental state after being caught in a fetish-related scandal. Desperate and with an impeachment looming, Thompson and his wife convince Pete to assist them in executing a creative solution to Thompson's dilemma. The team plans Thompson's feigned assassination to save his place in history. Traveling from D.C., to Nantucket, to Colorado, to Boston, over the span of several months, the conspirators plot this mock assassination and Thompson's future life of anonymity on a small Massachusetts island. Pete tells the story of their conspiracy, amid myriad indiscrete digressions about his other patients."
