In Los Angeles, thirty-seven years old attorney Phineus "Finn" Teague detests his current work that leaves him bored even at its most exciting moments. Instead he hides inside his apartment dreaming of being a super agent saving the world and getting the girl in an eight hour job. However, his daydreams dramatically change as he lusts over his neighbor Diana Traynor.
Amber Robinson works undercover for a top secret government agency. She and her partner Brandon are tracking Drake, a terrorist mercenary, by tailing his girlfriend, Diana. Amber has even moved into the same complex. When Finn seems to be everywhere especially when it comes to Diana, Amber wonders if he is a bad spy though his background check states civilian lawyer. She decides to seduce the truth out what appears to be a wild card operative not realizing that he will take her to some place she never has been before: love.
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME takes Walter Mitty and places him inside a James (make that Jane) Bond-like thriller complete with beautiful babes, wacky wizardry, a vile villain, and a stupendous spy story. Amber is a wonderful protagonist while Finn is a bungler who quickly learns reality is a lot different than dreaming or game playing. Yet he will risk his life if it means Amber is safe. Tongue in cheek, readers will appreciate Julie Kenner's espionage romantic suspense tale.
