| Plot Summary of A Secret Love |
"Since rescuing her large stepfamily from the brink of financial ruin during her come-out season eleven years prior, Lady Alathea Morwellan has been resigned to the fact that she will remain a spinster. Now, just when the family's future appears secure, a suspicious prommisary note signed by her naive father is discovered, and Alathea realises that she must take drastic action.
Enlisting the help of her childhood playmate, Gabriel Cynster, seems her only hope. However, Gabriel and Alathea have not spoken in over a decade, and whenever they are in the same room together, tension flies, and tempers flare. In her desperation, Alathea disguises herself as a widowed countess, and secures Gabriel's aid in exposing a fraudulent company, thus making the prommisary note redundant.
Gabriel finds himself intrigued by the mysterious countess, and vows to learn more about her, intimately. After discovering that she is a virgin, questions erupt, climaxing in the discovery of his estranged and frustrating childhood friend. This is a very sensual fiction, shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and describes explicit sex scenes. "

" In the fifth book of the Cynster series, Gabriel (Rupert)Cynster is called to a secret midnight meeting by a Countess/widow who is keeping her identity secret for her family's sake. She asks Gabriel for help with a financial scheme which has ensnared her family. He agrees for the price of a kiss for each tidbit of information he provides.
Althea Morwellan, Gabriel's childhood neighbor and playmate, is actually the countess in disguise. Althea and Gabriel although friendly, have a tension and rivalry between them, which causes distress for Althea as her attraction for Gabriel grows.
As Gabriel and Althea find themselves deeply enmeshed in a nefarious plot with villians, their lust for each other increases and the tug on their heartstrings grows tighter."
