Plot Summary of Killing the Lawyers
" Joe Sixsmith and his cat Whitey are both black, live and work in Luton and are private detectives. Well, Sixsmith is the detective; his cat is his sounding board who gives him inspiration and goes everywhere with him. The action starts early in this book with a lawyer being murdered shortly after Joe has consulted him. The police are alerted when a third partner is attacked while on the phone to Joe. The story moves along swiftly with Joe being employed on another case regarding a local athlete who is being threatened and then being hired by a friend who thinks she is being watched when she takes her grandchild to the park. All these cases fall into place together and are closely related."
