| Plot Summary of Too Deep For Tears |
"During his lifetime, Charles Kitterage traveled the world and fathered three daughters. Ailsa grew up with her mother in the Scottish highlands, but she inherited her father's lust for travel. When a young englishman comes to her village she must choose between her soulmate and the opportunity to see the world with this new suitor.
Li-an grew up in China, receiiving blue eyes as a gift from her father, a gift which made her an outcast. When she falls in love with a revolutionary she finds solace, but only briefly, as he leads a dangerous life.
Genevra was raised in India, where she was considered a bastard child. She inherted her father's artistic gifts, however she finds herself caught up in a scandel surrounding a smuggling operation run by her family's servants.
As Kitterage's life nears its end he returns to Scotland, and the one woman he ever truly loved. And his final request is that all of his daughters meet each other, and him. From across the world, these three women arrrive in Scotland to meet the father and sisters they never knew, and try to form a family.
