| Plot Summary of The High Graders |
"Eli Patterson had been the only one who believed in Mike Shevlin and now Eli was dead. Shevlin rode into Rafter Crossing determined to discover the cause of Eli's death and to bring his murderer to justice. But the town is getting ready for a turf war. Some think it's simply between miners and ranchers, but it's really all about gold, high grade gold. Everyone in Rafter Crossing has their finger in the pot and they don't want Mike to stir it up. As rightful owner to the mines, beautiful Laine Tennison is in the middle, caught between a rock and a hard place. In all this craziness, it's up to Mike to keep a steady head or lose it."
Lucy Johnson, Resident Scholar
