"On December 31, 1999, a man opens fire in a crowded subway station. Around the same time, a note is left inside of a newspaper vending machine. It demands 20 million dollars or else more people would die. The FBI calls Parker Kincaid, a FBI retiree and an expert forensic document examiner. He needs to decode the handwriting on the letter to find the killer before he strikes again. This story stays suspenceful because of the four-hour limit the killer puts between massacres. This book will leave you waiting in suspence and even has a cameo by lincoln rhyme, the main character in many of Deaver's works."
