Plot Summary of The First Third
"Neal Cassady was the inspiration for the Beat Generation and carried his legendary status over into the sixties. In his autobiography, Neal describes memories from his childhood, women he had encounters with, and some of his travels. The writing is a bit scattered but reflects the craziness of Neal's life. The book also contains writings about Neal from his wife, Carolyn Cassady and Lawrence Ferlinghetti."
