| Plot Summary of Weep Not The Widow |
"This highly unusual book is told as a series of newspaper articles and TV news broadcasts in transcript form. The 'articles' are taken from several very different 'newspapers', reflecting the differences in approach to a news story.
The story tells of a burglarized mansion, which seems to confuse the police because there is a gang carrying out similar burglaries elsewhere. But this one isn't related to the others. In fact, as we find out, it was an 'inside job', but whether it was actually a burglary or merely the operation of the Will of the mansion owner, who dies just at the time of the robbery, is something that the reader can make up his own mind about. In a clever twist, the author has written the 'newspaper reports' in such a way that they may report the facts, but not necessarily what the facts mean. "
