| Plot Summary of The Passionate Mistakes and Intimate Corruptions of One Girl in America |
"Michelle Tea writes a largely autobiographical novel that traces five years in the life of a young woman. When the novel begins, she is a gothic high schooler searching for her first sexual experience. As the story progresses, the woman experiences many stages of transformation: she realizes that she is a lesbian, becomes a prostitute, and moves from Boston to Tucson and back. This novel is best classified as an extremely eccentric coming-of-age story."
Judy Berman, Resident Scholar
