| Plot Summary of The Horsemen |
"The Horsemen is a portrait of 12 of the most influential horsemen in Canada's recent history. While the major interests of these men may be diverse, their influence has been experienced by and been of benefit to, thousands of people from many walks of life whose own interest and/or work revolves around the horse. They are the builders of racetracks, Canadian and Pacific Northwest Trails, Provincial and National Equine organizations, as well as founders of breed dynasties.
The dreams, goals, ambitions, foresight, leadership and organizational abilities to achieve what they set out to do - thereby providing beneficial opportunities and enjoyment to many, are some of the qualities posessed by each man. Their stories are fascinating and inspiring and also include portraits of the horses who influenced their lives.
Dr. Jan White, the author, is a career horsewoman of over fifty years experience in judging, breeding, training, instructing, appraising and writing about horses and their people. She has lived and worked in many countries on five continents and now makes her home in Vernon, B.C. The Horsemen is her 8th book."
