Plot Summary of Down the Long Hills
"7 year old boy and 3 year old girl escape Indian massacre and must travel alone to meet boy's father. Starts out like a children's book but it isn't. Boy must use all his father has taught him and hope that his father finds him before Indians or crooks do. Won Golden Spur in 1969."
