| Plot Summary of Vernon God Little |
"Vernon Gregory Little's best friend has commited a high school massacre of 16 of his classmates and now Vernon is being wrongly implicated in the massacre. This book chronicles the demise of Vernon as circumstance and conjecture have him charged with being an accessory to the murders. Lally Ledesma shacks up with Vernon's ever embarrassing mother and sees the opportunity to strike it big in the media at Vernon's expense. As the townsfolk, the local police and the media circus gather against Vernon he absconds to Mexico after first visiting the girl of his dreams Taylor Figueroa. He hitchhikes to southern Mexico where he is tracked down by Lally and cruelly entrapped by Taylor who is now in Lally's pay. By now Vernon is wanted for countless other murders and the innocent is charged and subsequently commited to Death Row. On Death Row Lally's media company starts a Big Brother type reality tv phone in where the public watch 3 death row inmates and vote for the one they want to fry. The writing in this book sparkles and amuses page after page.
