Plot Summary of Blood and Chocolate
"Vivian and her pack of teenage werewolves have been driven away from their former home. Unless they can control themselves--and that includes Vivian who is in love with a "meat boy"--and select new leaders, their lives may be seriously shortened."
Christine G., Resident Scholar

"Vivian's werewolf pack is on the run, fleeing from their former home, where they were burned out by local humans and the alpha male - Vivian's father - was killed. They've arrived in a new town, in disarray and without leadership. Vivian struggles to fit in to the world of human teenagers, attending school and hanging out, and is doing well, but then she falls in love with Aidan, a human boy who believes she's human, too. Her pack (including her mother) is furious, and they assure her it will never work out. Can love prosper between a werewolf and a human? Can a werewolf have both worlds? Vivian has to find out, though the answers may not be what she wants to hear. This YA story is impressive, not the least because of the strength (both mental and physical) of the main character - she's a far cry from the usual miserable, insecure YA heroine."
Ivy, Resident Scholar

"Vivian is a teenage werewolf. When the moon is high, she feels the call to run wild in the woods, to feel the forest floor beneath her paws. But, when she moves into a new town, she meets a boy. A human. Her family disapproves but she is head over paws. With growing tension within her pack and her lack of control over her own abilities, she wonders if her boy will love her, or more importantly, if he will survive loving her. Jealously, isolation and competetion within her extended family all threaten what tender happiness she trys to build."
Riley Sweeney, Resident Scholar
