| Plot Summary of The Final Phase |
"After exiling an infamous soothsayer to a distant penal world, the members of a governing body are advised that planets far from the hub of civilization are being invaded by an unknown race of aliens. Subsequently, it is agreed to utilize a controversial approach to destroy them and thus discount the soothsayer's feared prediction of the end of humankind. Meanwhile, an ancient artifact is recovered - one alleged to hold the secret to immortality - while another presence begins to inflict his own version of eternal life on those he chooses after he has had their original bodies destroyed.
