Plot Summary of The 51st and 52nd States
"This books informs the readers of the existance of two additional economic states. The reader is then informed of the states, informed of the rules and regulations that exist in the states, and then described the tensions that exist between the residents of the states whom are economic rivals of each other. The basic reason for the rivalry is that group one (know as Spers) needs group two (known as Povs) to suffer economically in order for their group to thrive. The Povs know this and can't stand it and they scheme none-stop to figure ways to break free and become equal to Spers. And likewise - the Spers know that Povs want to be equal and so they devise greater counter schemes to block the Povs attempts to break free. And then, when you didn't think things could get any better - the author places you into this society and dares you to embrace your role."
Carey Miller, Resident Scholar
