In Texas, Max Landy shows a house he lists to his client Vivienne “Pampered Princess” Stansfield. Not long afterward, Vivienne learns that she is in deep debt and her father, who pays the bills, is missing and her fiancé dumped her. Max sees her in Bobby's Place, a popular bar, drowning her sorrows and offers her encouragement. However, she interprets his words as a job offer as a nanny to his younger sisters that he raises. A couple of days later an even more desperate Vivienne accepts.
Desperate for someone to care for his two siblings he gives her a chance. As they fight she begins to provide a positive influence on his two wards and his other adult siblings. She feels good that he seems to care about Vivienne and not the media darling princess. Soon Max and Vivienne fall in love, but her faith in Max is shattered when she learns he has kept a scrapbook centered on her since they met twenty years ago as children from different sides of the tracks.
THE WEDDING DIARIES is a fine contemporary romance starring two likable lead characters, a host of congenial secondary players (his siblings), and two disagreeable parents. The story line is fun as readers enjoy watching the “Pampered Princess” struggling yet persevering against all odds. Though key issues and problems resolve too easily, Linda Francis Lee provides a delightful tale that sub-genre readers will enjoy.
