Plot Summary of Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths
"Journalist and editor Bruce Feiler noted that Abraham is a central figure in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and decided to study him as a historical and mythic figure, in the hope of finding commonalities between the three great religions. He talks to theologians and ministers from various sects and faiths, examines the historic and spiritual literature, and travels to the various places where Abraham is supposed to have lived, traveled, and died, both to see what might have been and how things are at these locations today. This is a fairly easy read, light on the philosophy, and if it provides no real answers, it lights a hopeful light in a world of violence and suspicion."
David Loftus, Resident Scholar
