Plot Summary of The Society
"

Meisha Merlin, June 2002, 6.00, 382 pp.
ISBN 1892065495

They are the most dangerous of their kind, the ones that humanity doesn't even suspect they exist because they don't draw attention to themselves. They don't kill for fun or fame but because it is a need for them like eating or sleeping. The Society is the only place these abnormal serial killers can let down their guard and show their true faces to the rest of the members. The leader of the society is James Fellon Kellog who, after he kills his victims, chews a piece of their heartss and then puts it back into their bodies upside down.

James' protégée Stephen is just as cold blooded a killer as his mentor and if he can't rule THE SOCIETY he wants to kill all of its members. James gets wind of what Stephen is doing and engages him in a contest where only one of them will walk away. Before the final battle in the war is engaged, a police man who is collecting data on serial killers finds himself in the middle of the battle, not sure who is friend or who is foe since the members of the Society all wears masks to function in society.

THE SOCIETY is much chilling and frightening than any horror book could ever be because the characters in this book wear the mask of sanity, look like human beings but their killing fields of blood make them true monsters. They are worse than the Ted Bundy's; the Jeffrey Dahmler's and The Columbine shooters because these killers are too careful to ever get caught. John F. Conn is a brilliant storyteller who constantly surprises the readers because the audience is unable to tell the good people from monsters and are shocked when a hero turns out to be a villain.
