Plot Summary of Avoiding Prison and Other Noble Vacation Goals
"25-year-old writer Wendy Dale goes off in search of adventure -- and finds it. Eventually she falls in love with a man incarcerated in a Costa Rican prison and risks everything to save him. In spite of this serious-sounding plot line, this is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Lots of suspense and great adventure too."
Miguel, Resident Scholar

"Wendy's parents move to Honduras and she takes that as a cue (I think - hard to tell if she likes the idea or not) to do some of her own traveling. So she goes to Cuba, Lebanon and Costa Rica, where instead of actually visiting those places and learning the culture, etc., she meets and gets involved with a different guy in each place and then is surprised when they lie to her, swindle her, or betray her. This is basically an account of a foolish woman who would have been better off just staying at her safe little job in L.A.   "
Michelle Brooke, Resident Scholar
