Plot Summary of Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man
"Fannie Flagg takes us on a journey in this story of the life of Daisy Fay Harper, a sassy truth-telling heroine who just can't stay out of trouble. What's more, Daisy Fay tells us everything from what or who made her mom and dad split up to what is really stashed in the freezer of her family's malt shop.

Daisy Fay is coming of age in the Gulf Coast Shell Beach, which is the End of the Road of the South. The folks who head for Florida haven't discovered it yet, but it's a dandy place to meet local VIPs like hard-drinking Jimmy Snow, who uses his crop-dusting plane for both transportation and carrying out revenge. There is Mrs. Dot, who is trying to hold Jr. Debutante meetings in the back of the Bait Shop; and Daisy's own alcoholic father who is trying to come up with a mortgage scheme in which his daughter has to return from the dead in a carefully orchestrated miracle. They're all part of the fun that takes us down home, back to the 50s, and into the best story ever written east of Texas.
