Sam is sailing his custom made vessel Silverwind off British Columbia when he sees a woman on South Windham Island jump into the water. The men on the supposedly uninhabited island make no effort to help her so Sam, risking his life, manages a daring rescue. His unexpected passenger is wealthy internationally famous movie star Anna Wade.
She was on the island visiting her brother Jason who is employed by a shady company that is working on a top secret project that will be of interest to terrorists and third world dictators. Jason slipped her a heavily encrypted CD-ROM that she is supposed to deliver to a certain scientist. Sam, a free-lance intelligence agent, who is in charge of a computer with unlimited storage capacity, is sucked into helping Anna free her brother and also cure the sibling of what the people in Grace Laboratories did to his mind.
OVERFALL is an action-packed thriller starring a very reclusive hero and a very exuberant heroine who strikes sparks off each other from the moment they meet. Their unusual courtship (for lack of a better term) eases the tension when the tale begins to boil and overcomes the coincidence of the rescuer having the perfect skills for this endeavor. A prime reason besides the action that David Dun's novels are so much fun to read is that he explains the science on a level that reader can understand without looking down at the audience. This book deserves a sequel because there is a very big loose end that deserves tying up.
