| Plot Summary of Romancing Mister Bridgerton |
"Penelope Featherington, resigned spinster and hopeless wallflower, has nursed a love for her best friend's brother, Colin Bridgerton for twelve years. In RMB, Colin and Penelope's friendship grows into love. Subplots include secrets revealed (for both of them) and acceptance of self / strong character development. This novel is fourth in Quinn's Bridgerton series and continues the tradition of commentary of Lady Whistledown. And yes, we do finally learn who she is."

"Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth book of the Bridgerton series, tells the story of how Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton learn to love one another. Penelope has loved Colin since she was fifteen but she has been overlooked by him (and much of Regency society) because of her ill-fitting clothes, her weight, and her tacturn ways. Sick of not being taking seriously, Colin starts to travel away from England in hopes of finding something to do other than going to parties. Yet, after a trip abroad, Colin returns to London to find that Penelope has her own secrets. Will their secrets and the efforts of society matchmakers be too much to overcome? Or will Colin find love with a woman he thought he knew everything about?"

"Bridgerton Series: The Bridgertons named their 8 children in alphabetical order.
It was a case of fireworks for Colin Bridgerton. It just suddenly dawned on him how he had always depended on Penelope's friendship and enjoyed their blander immensely. It was like someone had finally opened his eyes and he could not keep his desire for her at bay. For Penelope, it seemed she had loved him forever. She was close to the Bridgertons and best friend to Eloise, Colin's younger sister. She always thought that she, a wallflower, would remain a permanent spinster. An afternoon alone with Colin changed all that, as she could not keep herself from asking him to kiss her. It took just one kiss for the fire in their hearts to be set aflame.
Penelope had discovered and urged Colin in his knack for writing (something he had hidden from others). While Penelope's secret was finally revealed to Colin. She was Lady Whistledown (writer of society's gossip page)! Colin was desperate to keep her secret under lock and key and demanded her to end her role and her writings. Her hidden identity and the rest of society would ultimately stand between a future of their own. Penelope had to make him understand that Lady Whistledown was part of her and if he loved her, he would accept her, flaws and all or they would never had a chance at their happily-ever-after.
