Plot Summary of The Sorrows of Young Werther
"Werther, a young German slacker, falls in love with another man's wife, Charlotte. Werther's got a thing for his friend's wife, but she's not interested. Wether soon realizes that even if she did love him back, Lotte would never leave her husband. But being friends just isn't good enough. Werther foolishly fixates on his infatuation until it drives him crazy. Then he shoots himself in the head and dies. Poor young Werther, if only he'd gotten a job, he might have been able to get over Lotte and probably would have met someone else who wasn't married and might possibly have loved him back."
