Plot Summary of The One-Eyed Man
"Marshall Foxx, more notoriously known as the Adventurer, makes an appearance on a war-ravaged Earth 50 years after supposedly dying in a nuclear attack authorized by the United Nations. Mentally unstable and long-lived thanks to slivers of meteorites that have fused with a microcomputer in his brain, he is overcome by guilt. Thinking the human race had stabbed him in the back, he let the world think he died in the nuclear attack and stayed out of sight for 50 years. During that time, society deteriorated into near anarchy and civil war. Governments control things with martial law, rationing food, water, even sex. The old freedoms of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are unknown. Fox wants to return democracy to the world and save it from itself. But, how can he change a world that only wants him to remain dead?"
GMSmith, Resident Scholar

"Marshall Foxx is alive and he is angry. 50 years earlier, society thanked him for his service to mankind by dropping nuclear bombs on him. Unfortunately for mankind, his powers -- courtesy of asteroid slivers that fused with an experimental computer in his brain -- allowed him to survive.

For 50 years, he stayed out of sight, willing to let mankind continue on its path to destruction until his conscience forces him to come out of "retirement," albeit in a different identity.

As he feared, soon the now-repressive Earth governments -- not content with population control, corruption and endless wars over dwindling natural resources -- come after him thinking he can give them the edge they need to come out on top.

They are sadly mistaken. Foxx is eager to exact some vengeance, but his actions may lead to the destruction of mankind. As his rampages shred whole police and military forces, society must step up and unite to stop a man whose misguided zeal led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands. The final battle actually produces a hero who might have the ultimatum weapon against Foxx and ultimate salvation for mankind."
