| Plot Summary of Children of Cain |
"In Children of Cain, the final book in Monfredo's Cain trilogy, U.S. Treasury Agent Bronwyn Lyr travels behind confederate lines to Chimborazo prison to save her sister, a fellow agent, and a young child. As if that wasn't enough she is entrusted by President Lincoln to help a British agent smuggle tobacco out of Confederate America to garner the favor of the British Government. She is helped along the way by O'Hara, a fellow treasury agent who she barely trusts and who often ruffles her feathers. Through the story, Bronwyn and her sister experience the horrors of the Civil War as well as the difficulties in participating in it as women. Additionally, Aunt Glynis (Tryon), from previous Monfredo books makes an pleasant cameo. "
