Plot Summary of Shine Annie
""Shine Annie" is a wonderful tale of growing up in rural Georgia during the early 1960's. Annie Ruth Watson, the main character, must deal with the burgeoning Civil Rights struggle and its effect on African-Americans, as she herself is coping with growing up and the responsibilities of adulthood. Filled with memorable events to which those that lived during the time can relate, the book can double as a "primer" for those that didn't. "
Reginald D. Garrard, Resident Scholar
