| Plot Summary of That Camden Summer |
"After Roberta's divorce, she moves with her daughters to her home town, where the early 1900s society considers her a loose woman. Men try to take advantage of her, women scorn her, and she tries to find work and a home for her family. Along comes a widowed carpenter, who finds a way to fix more than her front porch, and mends her heart.
These are more of Spencer's signature strong characters. Don't look for unbridled passion, but an inner struggle with real people in real situations."
