"This is the first book I have read written by Belva Plain. I will be looking forward to reading more! This book is the very touching and heartbreaking story of a young Jewish girl caught in the grips of the beginnings of World War II. Ms. Plain has captured her innermost feelings and heartbreaks. Many pages of the book are stained with my tears. It is a book you cannot forget. "
