Plot Summary of Holding the Dream
"Kate's always felt like the poor relation. She is the poor relation; for all practical purposes adopted by the Templetons after her parents died in a car accident that Kate survived. And, being a year younger than her friends Margo and Laura didn't help. Kate began pushing to catch up at a young age, and she's never slowed down. Now she's a perfectionist who's developed an addiction to Rolaids just to get through the day. Then Byron DeWitt appears on the scene. He recognizes her problems and focuses on them. And, when some numbers turn up wrong at the accounting firm where Kate works Byron jumps in to help prove that she had nothing to do with it. Now, all he has to do is convince her to let him help with the rest of her life."

"Kate Powell is an attractive accountant who is very focused on her job and her family. She was raised by the Templetons of Templeton Hotels. She has money, so when she is accused of stealing from her firm, she is outraged and devastated.

Byron DeWitt replaces Kate's sister's ex-husband at Templeton Hotels and falls for Kate as soon as he sees her. He seduces her and despite her resistance, she falls for him as well. With Byron's help, she conviences the police she is innocent, and she confesses to Byron and her family that her father was accused of the same thing before his death.

Byron decides he can't go another day without Kate, and proposes to her. Kate is afraid and runs off, afraid to make a commitment. Will she come to her senses and find the love she never knew she wanted?"
