Associate attorney Michael Elliot looks forward to making partner at the renowned Davis and White firm. Michael works in the Los Angeles office, but is assigned by Peter Raven to work with Junior Partner Jonathan Gage of the New York City headquarters branch to insure that the Trinity Corporation paperwork is filed in a timely manner in upstate Albany, New York.
The next day, Michael following up as directed, calls to speak with Jonathan only to learn that the lawyer committed suicide. Though almost too late, Michael makes sure the Trinity Corporation papers are filed on time. The head office orders Michael to New York to service Jonathan's clients especially Trinity Corporation. However, Michael soon realizes that this customer has embezzled funds and committed inside trader fraud. However, the entire paper trail and other circumstantial evidence point towards Michael aiding and abetting the criminal activity.
BREACH OF CONFIDENCE is an exciting legal thriller starring a wonderful hero who turns from wild-eyed believer into classic skeptic. The story line is fast-paced though a romance seems unnecessary to the prime plot yet somehow makes Michael seem even more huggably shy. Fans will want to read this cynical look at legal firms and Eben Paul Perison's previous police procedural legal thriller THE SEVENTH SIN as both pack an entertaining wallop.
