Frank Pollard thinks he could be crazy, but more than that, fears he may be in danger. He has awakened once again to find his hands covered in blood. Each time he wakes he returns with strange objects in his hands and pockets. He is desperate and seeks the help of husband-and-wife detective team Bobby and Julie Dakota. They probe deeply to discover horrifying secrets about Frank's family. It is because of these appalling atrocities that Frank, and now, Bobby and Julie are being hunted down.

Meanwhile, Bobby and Julie are investigators caught up in trying to nab a hacker, Rasmussen, who has broken into a computer firm and is stealing their files. Only thing: Rasmussen has something surprising in for the two awaiting investigators. And then there's Candy, by far the most interesting character in the book...
