"This is book one of the Adventures of Conrad Stargard. It is about an engineer who is on holiday in Poland when he takes refuge in an Inn and wakes to find himself in the 12th century Poland. He doesn't know what to do, or how he got there, or how to get back. He does know from his history that the Mongols are coming. He decides that he must find a way to bring the technology level up, so that the Poland of the 12th century can beat the Mongols. This book is how gets set up to start doing that through luck and being in the right place at the right time."
