God Stalk Jame is a Kencyr, one of the last survivors of a race dedicated to a war with Perimal Darkling. Amnesiac and fleeing dangerous territory, she comes to Tai-Tastigon, fantastic city of a thousand gods, in search of her remaining family. She finds a home at an inn and work as an apprentice in the Thieves' Guild, although guild politics soon become as dangerous as the land she left.
