Both a detective story and a technological exploration, Kiln People features a fascinating idea of 24 hour clones. Well, sort of clones, actually replicas pressed into a memetic clay. It is really a cool idea and presents a very interesting way for Brin to tell the story from different points of view, but all from the same character. Really a great book.... Startide Rising - Uplift Saga 2 n the 26th century, A human, neodolphin and neochimps crew of the starship streaker crash land on the beautiful uncharted world of Kithup. They must battle hostile alien armadas while they protect the most important secret of the universe. The secret is a alien mummy which gives evidence of the ancient race which seeded intelligences throughout the galaxies. This novel has scenes of battles in space and on the seas. Startide Rising has also memorable ... Sundiver - Uplift Saga 1 A man still suffering, emotionally, after the death of his wife joins a new mission entering the sun. He finds a journey, not only of self discovery and enlightenment, but of nefarious dealings in mankinds projects. The real beauty of this book is in the way it seamlessly blends these two themes...
