Simon Martin, a young hooligan, is in Mr. Cartwright's class for troubled students. When the science fair comes along, their class gets stuck with Flour Babies. Small six-pound bags of flour that must be cared for at all times. Simon attacks the project with little enthusiasm, but as time passes he grows fond of his flour baby.
