| Plot Summary of Loving Jessie |
"
Mira, Jan 2002, 6.50, 384 pp.
ISBN: 1551667916
In California, her loving grandfather, who raised her, died six months ago leaving Jessica Sinclair all alone in her grief. Almost thirty, Jessie realizes she wants a husband and children, but as the world's oldest virgin sees no chance of that happening. Of her childhood pals, Reilly McKinnon married five years ago the lovely Dana though he is having marital problems and Matt Latimer left eons ago rarely returning as he photographs the hot spots around the globe.
However, Matt has come home after being airlifted out of Kosovo. He is burned out and needs to heal when he becomes distracted by how beautiful Jessie has become. She decides to persuade Matt into giving her a child before he traipses off to his next assignment. However, Matt asks Jessie to marry him as he concludes their friendship can evolve into a loving relationship if he can convince her that he needs her in their bed forever.
LOVING JESSIE is an amusing and ardent relationship romance starring two charming couples. The Jessica-Matt diameter takes center stage while the Reilly-Dana coupling provide two additional angles to the relationship rectangle. The characters appear genuine making the tale filled with angst by underscoring the need to communicate between partners. Though the woes of the support duet are well written and intriguing it feels unnecessary to the prime narrative. Still Dallas Schultz has provided her fans with a robust read focusing on friends and lovers.
