| Plot Summary of Shards of Honor |
"Cordelia Naismith, leading a scientific expedition to a new planet, is taken prisoner by Admiral Aral Vorkosigan of the Barrayaran army - and Barrayarans are known for the cruelty and repressive society. Over the course of a trek back to safety, Cordelia and Aral fall in love, which is unfortunate, because their governments are about to go to war with each other. Inevitably, they find themselves on opposite sides during a conflict. "

"Cordelia Naismith is left behind when her ship is attacked by Vorkosigan's ship and is forced to flee. She stays on the planet with her shipmate Debauer who is damaged by a Disruptor. They are both captured by Lord Vorkosigan and hike to a shelter Barrayarans have built. During the trek they realize they are becoming more than a captor and hostages."
